Among Children and Youth Around The Subject of Climate Change
Young people can contribute to Youth Climate Report in one of two ways: by registering and submitting stories, photos or videos to the blog, or by applying to be a news reporter. The work of the reporter involves “on-air” duties. Reporters are paired with a a university or college journalism student and assigned a noted climate change scientist or researcher to interview. Interviews will be showcased on the Youth Climate Report website and edited into a short documentary that will be screened for delegates attending climate conferences worldwide.
“I’m very excited to present this project to the young delegates attending the TUNZA Conference in Bandung,” says John Kelly, CEO, Neko Harbour Entertainment. “These are the next generation of environmental leaders and visionaries from every corner of the world coming together to discuss the important issues affecting our planet today and well into the future.”
“My films have been presented at UN climate change conferences in Copenhagen and Cancun,” says Mark Terry, Filmmaker & President, Neko Harbour Entertainment. “Today, I’m delighted to pass the baton to a new generation of environmentalists to continue this tradition of bringing the voices of climate scientists to international policy-makers.”
Youth Climate Report Executive Producer, John Kelly, is currently attending TUNZA Conference where he is facilitating two workshops on interview and camera techniques.
TUNZA International Children & Youth Conference on the Environment takes place September 27 – October 1, 2011 in Bundung, Indonesia. It bring togethers 1400 children and youth to discuss their role and inputs to the upcoming United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development ” Rio+20″.
